Basic Food Hygiene



The Basic Food Hygiene course focuses on the needs of food handlers in the sector of the food industry in which they work. Suitable for food operatives, kitchen staff, care assistants and service staff.The basic course is 6 hours and can be run at times to suit your requirements.  The course concludes with a multiple choice test.

Course Syllabus.

  • Food poisoning.
  • Allergens.
  • Bacteriology.
  • Prevention of contamination and food poisoning.
  • Personal hygiene.
  • Premises, equipment and pest control.
  • Cleaning and disinfection.
  • Legislation.

Course length: 6 – 7 hrs.

Qualification: Basic food hygiene certificate.

Cost: £45 per person + VAT on open courses.

£45 per person (min charge of £270) + VAT for in-house courses.
