This short stroke awareness course is designed to give a greater understanding about strokes. On completion of the course the candidate will have had practical experiences of what a stroke sufferer has to deal with on a daily basis.

The training covers the medical aspects of a stroke and also encourages candidates to practically experience the difficulties a stroke patient faces whilst dealing with their condition. Stroke patients often seem difficult to manage; one of the main aims of this course is to allow students to understand the frustration of the patient and learn to respond with empathy and professionalism.

Course Syllabus.

  • To give a greater understanding of strokes (CVA) and TIAs.
  • To understand the difference between CVA and TIA.
  • To understand, recognize and treat a casualty who is suspected of having a stroke.

Course length: 3 hrs.

Qualification: Stroke Awareness certificate.

Cost: £35 per person + VAT on open courses.

£35 per person + VAT (min charge of £280 + VAT) for in-house courses.
